PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

The Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council (FSMSDC) administers
the following programs and services to foster business development and networking:

• Registers and certifies minority-owned businesses
• Manages the Miami and Orlando MBDA Business Centers for the U.S.Department

of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency
• Sponsors networking events to promote and recognize minority-owned businesses

and the supplier diversity programs of large corporations and government
agencies
• Offers the Technical Assistance Program (TAP), giving MBEs access to technical
and professional services in areas of legal, accounting and business compliance,
and sales coaching and training
• Manages the Florida Department of Transportation DBE Specialized Development
Program to assist Prime Contractors in meeting their diversity goals
• Offers the Partners in Business Progress Mentor Protégé Program, which
matches minority-owned companies with corporate members
• Hosts an Annual Business Expo with on-site business opportunities, workshops,
industry forums, business leads and top-level networking and hosts mini trade
fairs throughout the year
• Manages Business Resource Labs that have workshops and seminars, computer
labs and business resource libraries in northern and southern Florida
• Informs and introduces the corporate community to Minority Business
Enterprises
• Refers MBEs that need loans to the FSMSDC Loan Fund, NMSDC Business
Consortium Fund and other financing vehicles
• Provides training and business advisory services to minority-owned businesses
and major corporations
• Presents an Annual Awards Gala and other activities that recognize the
achievements of minority-owned businesses, industry leaders and major
corporations committed to supplier diversity
