of the Year from SCMSDC. Last year, the company did business with 69 certified
NMSDC MBEs, including goods and services in construction and entertainment,
including production, post-production, media and digital. NBCUniversal developed a
subcontracting program for vendors that may not be able to work directly as primary
suppliers. Semiannually, the company re-emphasizes its corporate commitment to
the MBE program. NBCUniversal partners with non-diverse prime contractors and
strongly encourages joint ventures, partnerships and subcontracting as methods to
create additional business opportunities for diverse vendors. NBCUniversal spent
more than $100 million with diverse suppliers last fiscal year.
